web 2.0

Web 2.0 describes www (world wide web) usually known as the second stage of development of the internet where most static web pages have been replaced/changed to dynamic or user-generated content. a web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators of user-generated content in a virtual community. Web 1.0 only allowed the basic viewing of the static page.

This change is very beneficial to web pages as it allows the creator of the page to add more features to the page, thus creating a more interactive space, that is also easier to share and communicate with other people on the www. examples of web 2.0 pages would be things like you-tube, Facebook and Wikipedia as they have many different types of content like images, video, text and audio. this would not be possible on the earlier stages of the webs development (web 1.0).
